Props to the PoPo

So I came home tonight to find my front door WIDE open and I couldnt remember if I had locked the door or not( I have been burglarized 2 times and attempted once before so I know to leave the investigating to the pros ) I called 911 and sent the kids across the street and waited for them to come. 2 officers checked out the house and we decided that it was all my fault and nary a bad guy could be found. Phew...So after I explained to the officers that a bad guy must have snuck in and left a Mount Everest of laundry on the couch and a few dirty dishes on the sink and of course it was a bad guy that decided to dump out the whole Tub -o -Barbies so he could find that perfect evening dress for a date with Ken I realized something - I should clean my house as if a policeman was going to have to search it ! I always thought you keep a home clean because order and cleanliness is next to godliness and it promotes a happy home but knowing the PoPo may have to check out yer' skivies drawer gives it a whole new sense of urgency. This was the 3rd time I' ve had to call the police and have them check out my crib and each time I wished I would have wiped or swept something before they came. Now to say that cleaning is not my strong suit would be more than accurate ( I'm much more naturally inclined to do ANYTHING else-dental work seems better sometimes) but I have been really trying to keep everything tidy. This experience just reminded me to keep on keepin' on in my efforts to be a cleanin super star. So I say Thankyou to the fine men and women in blue who serve , protect and help to inspire us to mop more often.

You are so funny. And also SO inspirational. I always clean my house really well before we go on vacation... and I always say that if something were to happen to us, I would be SO embarrassed if someone had to come in and go through my stuff in a messy house. So I always try to clean up even just a little before going ANYWHERE just in case I get in a car accident or something. MY POINT IS, now I have yet another reason to keep my house a little cleaner. IN case the popo have to come and search. You are so smart!

Ditto to Kate. You may be masked in hilarity, but your posts are inspiring as well. Also, I'm really relieved that no bad guys got your Barbies. I think you've been burglarized enough for one lifetime.

glad that ken and barbie didn't have to postpone a perfectly good date last night. i wouldn't want barbie to have to get her spaghetti strap evening gown rustled and dirty because of some hasty robbers.

i am also glad that my son and your children didn't have to come home at gun point.

I'm telling you girl ... I don't want to hear about any more stories involving police in your house!

In less, of course, they are there for a party with excellent food and hilarious company.

Maybe then they can come.

I used to think that I needed to keep the house clean becouse what if I died, and the Relief Sociaty came to do what ever they do.... then your Grandma Smith told me that you girls would all clean before they let anyone in. That gave me a sence of relief. When that time comes, I hope my days of lawngera are over.....

Thiefs are very rude people. They will never break in when your house is looking spic and span. They like to add insult to injury by waiting until you have to make a mad rush out the door and leave the breakfast mess all over the kitchen. That's when theives like to strike. They should really teach manners in prison.
